Plywood (pine), wood-infused PLA
The prompt for this project was to "create an enclosure surrounding something" with woodworking and laser cutting tool and skills at our disposal.
I opted to make a purpose-built case for a presence sensor I was building for another class to detect people playing a piano located in one of the ITP communal areas. It includes ports for the Arduino's power/data cable and a couple of front-facing sensors, as well as a spot for a display (the music stand).
This piece is part of a series around the theme "symmetry is overrated", and plays with the use of intentional and surprising asymmetry.
